NYCDecember 16, 2009 -- The movie 'Nine' premiered last night (December 15) in New York City at the celebrated Ziegfeld Theatre. Garnering plenty of attention from the Manhattan theater crowd, the entire star-studded cast was present on the red carpet. Dressed to the, uh, nines were Fergie, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, and Nicole Kidman. In addition, several dozen other stars -- including Madonna and Goldie Hawn -- showed up to watch the flick and applaud the players.
Based on the 1982 Broadway production, this celebrated musical won several Tony Awards. The movie 'Nine' follows the antics of Guido Contini, a famous director in the midst of a mid-life crisis. Balancing the women in his life -- his mistress, his mother, his wife, a film star muse, a costume designer, a journalist and a girl from Contini met long ago -- he becomes overwhelmed by all the females who have contributed to this tortured man's angst.
The movie 'Nine' is set to open Christmas day.
