Is it easy to find jobs in New York City?
I am in Los Angeles, and am considering moving to New York City. Several people have told me that it is very easy to find jobs all over New York City, specifically at restaurants, shops, etc. How true is that?
America is the land of opportunity and there's a long line up of very qualified foreigners that want to work and live here so I would imagine the competition is pretty intense, especially here in New York, which is already ultra competitive with just Americans.
Not right now it isn't. The stock market and trading companies are doing well, but have downsized and have been merging. There are fewer jobs there. Same with the money market. Tourism is down. Information, like magazines and other businesses based here have less demand. This is also causing a ripple through the economy which affects other jobs. I seriously doubt if there are many jobs here. I wouldn't say none, but as close to none as I can remember seeing.
Good luck Jenny. New York is great, and really easy to get around. You'll have a fab time.
