What is the attitude of New York Italians/ total devotion?

I've recently divorced, and am dating for the 2nd time an Italain from New York. I live in the south, as both live here. I love their intensity, making you feel like you're the only one in the room, they way they look and talk, but they seem to be really jealous. I'm totally faithful, but why are they so preoccupied to the point of extreme jealousy and complete devotion above anyone in your life?

    Nice safeway sale - last night, I had a big New York strip steak, sweet potato and fresh green beans for dinner. Total cost under $6. :)

    that and in 1998 the New York Yankees won the World Series and 114 games in the regular season 125 total.
