Stunning: Lady Gaga Returning to NYC Tomorrow (For Now)

Everyone’s favorite NYU non-alum Lady Gaga is scheduled to bring her Monster Ball tour to Radio City Music Hall for four nights beginning tomorrow, despite cancellations of recent shows due to “exhaustion and dehydration.” All four New York performances are sold out, but that’s why Craigslist was invented.

According to Gothamist, she will be donating all sales from one of the Radio City shows to Haiti. Fans can also buy a Haiti-theme t-shirt printed with this ridiculous graphic.

While Gaga is receiving some flack over her cancellations, last week former NYU Local editor Joe Coscarelli offered some suggestions on how she could keep her Haus of Gaga soaring. See, NYU students, you can be successful right after college (we’re talking about Joe, not Gaga).

Last week Lady Gaga collapsed from dehydration and exhaustion and it seems she has been in the wars again as she appeared to be sporting a burn on her arm. During a meet and greet with fans, following her second night at the Radio City Music Hall in New York, an inflamed scab was clearly visible on her forearm just above the tattoo on her wrist, Daily Mail online reported.

The injuries didn't end there as several blemishes could be seen on her right upper thigh, possibly bruises from her rigorous dance routines. But Gaga did nothing to hide the injuries parading around in a sleeveless white PVC top with matching ultra-short shorts and a pair of 80s-style ankle boots, reports said.

The singer was her usual outlandish self, growling as she strutted up and down in front of her fans, or 'little monsters' as she refers to them. The singer is currently midway through a four-night run at the Big Apple venue, where she has returned to the stage following her dramatic collapse last week. 

Gaga returned to the stage for her Monster Ball gig in New York on Wednesday, after battling exhaustion. The 23-year-old singer went for a walkabout outside the city's Radio City Music Hall to sign autographs after the concert and looked back to her outrageous best.

Last night was Lady Gaga’s opening show for her sold out four-night Monster Ball stint at Radio City Music Hall. For almost two hours Lady Gaga entertained amidst her over-the-top costumes, masks and feather outfits.

As the audience included VIP’s like The Donald (yes, as in Donald Trump), her fans went truly gaga over the performance. Whether it was couples wearing matching silver-spangled hot tops and hot pants or wearing feather boas -- they were ready for some Lady Gaga action.

After all, it was Lady Gaga’s first show since she canceled and postponed a variety of gigs due to mere exhaustion last week.

As Lady Gaga opened the show in a suit compiled of Christmas tree lights, her back up dancers simply wore white body stockings and neon green chin guards.

As Lady Gaga, a native New Yorker, illuminated Radio City Music Hall in her bevy of wardrobe changes including a blonde Marilyn Monroe wig, she danced, pranced and sang across the stage. She reminisced about growing up in Manhattan, thanked her fans sincerely and said hello to her dad. In fact, when Lady Gaga appeared on Oprah just last week she said how important it is for people to have a close, loving relationship with their parents.

She also opened her wallets and announced on the show that she’ll be donating all proceeds from her January 24 show at Radio City Hall to victims of Haiti. She proclaimed, “Sing this for the people of Haiti!” Amidst bopping around on stage she later shouted, "I love my hometown!"

As Lady Gaga wore countless costumes like a red leather bikini, matching captain’s hat and red eye makeup and black boots, she was carried off the stage during Boys Boys Boys as fans shouted, “Gaga! Gaga!”

When she ended her whirlwind show in New York City, Lady Gaga appeared trapped inside planetary rings. And during Gaga's finale, Bad Romance, she sang a cappella as she morphed into a disco inferno amidst fog on the stage at Radio City.

Red Latex, Spikes, and Rock & Roll… Oh My! as I read this I could not help but to feel bleak

As music technology, social networking, and the internet make it easier and easier to have anything music related accessible just from a few strokes of the keyboard, the music industry isn’t withering away, but merely transforming.

The phenomena of Lady Gaga, however, is flourishing no matter what the declining state of CD and tour sales may be. The reason for this? Really great timing. Lady Gaga is one of just a few artists that is coming into her own backed by the music traditions of old and also by the new traditions and trends that will propel the music industry into the future.

Well, there’s that and then, of course, there’s good old fashion talent, shock and awe, and a generous heart to amplify her efforts. Not to mention an obvious intention to set herself apart from the rest and show this world something that they haven’t seen before.

An excellent example of how Lady Gaga does this would be her December 7th set at the Annual Royal Variety House in Blackpool, England; the show supports elderly British artists. Needless to say, her costume gained considerable notice, as always. The Lady was decked out in a red latex dress, with a 20 foot train, modeled after Queen Elizabeth I and performed “Speechless” from a piano suspended 15 feet into the air. After which, she met Queen Elizabeth II and while she refused to comment on what she discussed with the Queen, she did tell British tabloids, “I’m a massive fan. I’ve been practicing my curtsy.”

Continuing right along in the same vein, on January 15th, Lady Gaga appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show donning a white pantsuit that followed a spiked theme, complete with spiky hair, as well as a ball and chain. On the show, she spoke with Oprah about the tragedy in Haiti. “Haiti’s still suffering,” she said. “And I was thinking earlier, because I was in New York during 9/11 and I always felt, the level of disaster isn’t in the neighborhood of what is happening in Haiti, but I just remember feeling that nobody really understood. And I worry that young people don’t know enough about what is going on there.”

It was then that Lady Gaga made this announcement regarding her January 24th show, in her hometown of New York City, at the Radio City Music Hall, “And I will say today that on the 24th, the Monster Ball in New York City, all of the money that I make in ticket sales and merchandise will go to Haiti. And on the 24th, you can also go onto LadyGaga.com and any merchandise that you buy, the money will go to Haiti.” Of course, a huge applause from the audience followed.

It doesn’t look as if anything is slowing down for this legend in the making. Monster Ball runs through March 8th and Lady Gaga has been nominated for 3 Brit Awards including Best International Female, Best International Album, and Best International Newcomer.
