NHL: New York Rangers 3, Colorado 1

DENVER, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Marion Gaborik's hat trick, the 10th of his NHL career, powered the New York Rangers to a 3-1 win Sunday over the Colorado Avalanche, ending a five-game skid.


Gaborik scored the first three goals of the game, one in each period, and was assisted on two of them by Vaclav Prospal and Marc Staal.


Chad Johnson blocked 34 shots for the Rangers for his first NHL victory.


Cody McLeod ended Johnson's shutout bid with the final score of the game at 12:39 of the third period.


Craig Anderson had 31 saves in the Avalanche's third straight loss.

  7. I love NHL 10. But the right analog stick handling feature is killing me more than Wayne Gretzky's New York Rangers killed his career.
