Places to visit between Philadelphia and New York city?

Hi, I'm intending to drive from Philadelphia to New York and was wondering if there are any nice places to visit along the way? Anywhere of particular interest that would be worth going to see? Anywhere nice to stay? We'll be spending just over a week in the area, 2 - 3 days in Philadelphia for a wedding and then a couple of days in New York. Was just wondering if there's anywhere else along the way that we should stop off?

    When you travel from Philadelphia to New York, you are in for one of the most boring two hour drives in the United States. Most people take the PA Turnpike to the NJ Turnpike to whatever NY exit is closest to their destination. There isn't a whole lot in between. You can take some back roads and stay off the pikes. But, the trip is not that exciting. You can go up through New Hope in Bucks County (a quaint, artsy town) and then go over the river and meander over to Princeton (nice, but not that much of a tourist draw). I don't think Great Adventure (a big amusement park) is open in the winter, but that's about the only other central Jersey attraction I can think of. Almost everything else in between is farm land, industrial parks and suburbs. NJ is kind of flat, and if you didn't see NJ license tags, you could think you are in Ohio or Indiana.



    There is a ton of stuff to see and do in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. there is no way I have enough room here to tell you about it all. Historic places, night clubs, parks, theaters, malls, scenic neighborhoods etc. etc. etc.. And of course at the other of the trip is Gothan City, the Big Apple. there is always something to do there.



    But, like I said, there's really no fun way to travel that bland 90 mile stretch between the two.

    east coast delaware......2.5 hours south of new york...and 25 minutes away from philadelphia...;-)
