Why isn't there a bridge from London England to New York ?

I remember reading a Science Fiction story when I was a kid that had a bridge from New York to London that was finished in 2010. What happened to that? Also if it existed would you use it?

  1. That's why it's called science fiction.

There are many reasons why a bridge that large would never exist.

    Too many reasons in fact.
