Fridays new development: NBA: New York 95, LA Clippers 91

New York

NEW YORK, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- David Lee put New York in front with 26 seconds left Friday and Chris Duhon added three free throws in pushing the Knicks past the Los Angeles Clippers 95-91.

New York fell behind by 15 points after one period, but got back in the contest with a big third quarter and made the key plays down the stretch to end a two-game skid.

Baron Davis gave the Clippers their last lead at 91-90 by hitting a 3-pointer with 39 seconds to play. Lee then tipped in an offensive rebound after a miss by Al Harrington, putting the Knicks back in front.

Al Thornton committed an offensive foul for the Clippers and Duhon made 1-of-2 free throws.

Rasual Butler tried to win it for the Clippers with a 3-pointer, but he missed it with 2 seconds to go and Duhon tacked on two more foul shots with a second remaining.

Lee led the way with 25 points and Duhon had 17 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.

Los Angeles got 20 points from Chris Kaman and 19 from Davis. The Clippers had won their previous two games.

New York rallied in the third period with a 14-4 run. The Knicks outscored the Clippers by 16 in the third to tie the score heading into the final quarter.
