What is a good restaurant to go to to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday in new york city?
My girlfriend is turning 16 and I'm looking for a place to celebrate her birthday. I want it to be really nice and romantic and I want them to bring her a cake, you know all that jazz. Anyone have ideas?

Just remembered it's my ex-girlfriend's birthday today. Let us wish her a nice slip on the ice and a broken arm...the least she deserves! :)
ReplyDeletehere's a link to romantic restaurants.
ReplyDeleteI really like Serendipity. They have great frozen Hot chocolate. it's always a winner with the ladies. http://gonyc.about.com/od/bestofnewyorkcity/tp/romanticrest.htm
Make my day and upset my girlfriend...tell me you love me more then her and wish me a happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhy not try a different restaurant, something off the beaten path, but that doesn't mean grubby and cheap and not romantic. In fact, it''s totally romantic and beautiful, not totally off the chart pricewise and the food is fantastic, but as it's been around for quite awhile it's fallen off the map as one of the top restaurants. It's called Capsuto Frere and I have been there when they have done the birthday cake biz for someone.
ReplyDeleteRomantic and upscale, but ties not a necessity.
Located on Watts Street, you said your girlfriend is turning 16, but you may be older and have a car. No parking problems down there, but also no public transport. Eat there often even though I live on upper Westside. Do have a car and always drive down with no problems.
Really happy with my Birthday surprises, yesterday was such a great day - I have the best girlfriend
ReplyDelete1. Savoy
ReplyDeleteThis warmly lit restaurant feels more like a country inn -- complete with a roaring fire in the colder months. Dine on fine American cuisine and if you'd really like to impress, reserve for the chef's special menu.

i found this place, i dont live in new york, and i also dont know your price range but i do know the price range for this place..it's not bad...check it out i guess. if shes a cuasual girl, take her to a bakery restaurant,if shes afraid of junk food...dont...shell b shy to eat in front of you. if u take her somewhere nice, SHE WONT TURN INTO A GOLDIGGER if she doesnt know how expensive it is. what she should know is, how romantic you are. or how cool you can be. dont go for the hot dog stand o god. (uhh...thats for a lunch date..if ur going for a dinnerish dinner...i wouldnt do that..) http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/XL&sdn=gonyc&cdn=travel&tm=278&gps=38_10_1276_652&f=10&su=p284.9.336.ip_p531.50.336.ip_&tt=3&bt=0&bts=0&zu=http%3A//clk.about.com/%3Fzi%3D1/XL%26sdn%3Dgonyc%26cdn%3Dtravel%26tm%3D231%26gps%3D39_5_1276_652%26f%3D10%26su%3Dp284.9.336.ip_p531.50.336.ip_%26tt%3D3%26bt%3D0%26bts%3D0%26zu%3Dhttp%253A//savoynyc.com/

ReplyDeletethat is a good present. I got that last year for my birthday from my girlfriend. :)
ReplyDeletethis is so cute of you. i'd die if my boyfriend ever did something like that for me. anything you do for her that night, she'll appreciate it.
ReplyDeletehard rock cafe
ReplyDeletedepending on where & what your budget is, I would recommend a French Bistro. There are several dozen in the city--Balthazaar is good, but three are many that are not quite so $$.
ReplyDeleteMenupages.com is my BIBLE of restaurant reference. It will show you the menu as well as let you know what is romantic & such.
